Google is easy, it's quick and it seems to always have the right answers.

Did you know?

-Not everything you find when doing a Google search, is true

Information can be outdated, biased or simply wrong

-Those quick facts you see along the side/top when you do a Google search...that's usually from Wikipedia (wiki=editable)

-The links at the top of your search (the ones you click on most of the time) are not always the best. They're up there at the top because they've been visited the most frequently, which doesn't always = accuracy.

Some quick tips for using Google as a search engine:

1. Do a good Google Search

What does this look like?

-Use small phrases for your search (not complete sentences)

-Be as specific as you can in your search terms

-Do an advanced search or use Google Scholar to get the best results

2. Evaluate the information you find (more info on next page)

3. Do not use Wikipedia for information. It's a great place to get ideas, that's all.

*Remember Google.com does not go in your works cited. You need to actually click a link of a web page, use the information and cite that page.
