About Google Assignments
For some assignments, instructors may have a Google Doc, Sheet, or Slide deck already made that you will use for your submission. This is called a Google Assignment. When you open the assignment, Google Drive creates a copy of the file in your Google Drive folder. There are two ways to edit your assignment.
Complete the Assignment from the Assignment Page
-
-
- Click on the name of the assignment.
- Edit the document directly in Canvas.
- Click "Submit."
-
*Note - It is called Google Assignment LTI 1.3 - same steps as Google Cloud Assignment
Open the Assignment in a New Window
-
-
- Click on the document link.
- Make edits in Google Drive.
- Return to the assignment page.
- Click "Submit."
-
After you submit, your instructor will see your work exactly as it is shown when you clicked the Submit button. Any changes you make to the assignment after the submission cannot be viewed by your instructor unless you submit the assignment again as a resubmission. Your instructor will then see both submissions.
